Marvin's Rescue - March 13 - 29, 2026*

*Performances take place at Portland Center Stage at the Armory
In Marvin’s Rescue human actors portray dog and human characters. There are no dogs in the show.

The story is a fun loving tale (tail) of a man who has experienced loss and adopts a rescue dog. The dog has a history of neglect and over the course of the story, Marvin and Sam (the dog) learn to care for each other.
The story includes mention of suicide.
There is a simulated moment in which Marvin “kicks” Sam.
Several hearts are also broken.

Be warned, the show is very funny, and some audience members have reported peeing themselves a little from laughter. Dogs also have a good time; tear up couch cushions, pee on a house plant, and say “Fuck You 4th of July”.
