Brian Guerrero

Brian started watching plays with his theatre-going parents in St Louis and first got a taste of being a part of the action while playing the trombone in the pit. He moved onstage in high school and went on to earn his BA in Theatre at Colorado College. With his degree in his pocket, he traveled south to Los Angeles and found the work there as an actor someplace between slim and none so fell into taking jobs on the production side coordinating and managing commercials and music videos. He liked it. He’s a man with a wide range of skills. After seven years he’d had enough of the film world and was drawn back to the theatre in Jackson Hole and Chicago where he worked such various jobs as sound and lighting designer, scenic painter and stage manager. He moved to Portland in 2008 –he says he likes coffee and beer and the mountains- and has settled down in a house with chickens in the backyard. Since then he’s been working consistently in the community as a stage manager at ART, Portland Playhouse (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom), and the Hand2Mouth, Lakewood, and Broadway Rose Theatres. Barbecue and collard greens is what floats his boat…. and baby blue chicken eggs.
