Rick Lewis

Rick most recently wrote, arranged and directed Christmas on Broadway for Broadway Rose Theatre and was musical director/conductor for Sweeney Todd at Portland Center Stage. Other Portland Center Stage productions include Oklahoma (for which he won a Drammy Award), Black Pearl Sings, Sunset Boulevard, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Ragtime (Drammy and PAMTA awards), Guys and Dolls (Drammy), Cabaret, West Side Story (Drammy), Fantasticks, Bat Boy, and A Christmas Carol (Composer). Rick wrote the hit Off-Broadway musical The Taffetas, as well as The Cardigans–Those Swingin’ Singin’ Guys from Alpha Mu Phi Pi (Backstage New York Bistro Award – Outstanding Musical Revue), and Have a Nice Day! — A 70’s Musical Flashback. He was vocal director and assistant conductor Cy Coleman’s The Life (Pre-Broadway, Westbeth Theatre) and served as audition pianist for the pre-Broadway workshop of Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George. In Spring 2013, Rick will serve as musical director for the world premiere of Somewhere in Time at Portland Center Stage.
