Harold Goldstein, President

Owner and CEO of OPAD Consulting Firm (Organizational Planning, Analysis and Development) since 1981. Present Board positions: SIA Corporation, San Jose, CA; Bullen Semi-conductor, Dayton, OH. Not-for-profit Boards: Oregon Ballet Theatre, Board Vice Chair, Portland, Oregon; Children’s Trust Fund of Oregon; Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Past Board positions: Prevent Child Abuse, CA (President 14 yrs.); Magic Theatre, SF, CA (co-President 3 yrs.); California Symphony; Diablo Ballet (VP 10 yrs.); Artists Repertory Theatre, Portland Oregon. Married to Carol Streeter and moved from California to Portland in November 2008.

Neville Wellman, Treasurer

Neville is a financial consultant with more than 18 years of experience in providing strategic and fiscal guidance to corporate and non-profit decision makers. As a board member of Artists Repertory Theatre he has served on the Finance, Development, Facilities and Real Estate committees. He completed NWBCA’s Art of Leadership program and is actively engaged in consulting with a number of arts-based non-profits. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, he and his wife Romani moved to Portland in 2005 with their ever-expanding feline brood. Neville is an intrepid world traveler, foodie and outdoor enthusiast.

Mary Swartz, Secretary

Mary retired in July 2007 after 27 years in administrative roles at Virginia Commonwealth University and moved to Portland with her husband to be near their children and grandchildren. She also worked several years at New York University Medical Center, and has served in various volunteer roles including assisting in a Harlem Head Start program, mentoring in Richmond, Virginia schools, and serving on the Board of Ten Thousand Villages, a fairtrade store. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, volunteering at OMSI, and exploring the beautiful Northwest.

Linda Boekelheide

Linda is an unrepentant volunteer having learned early in life to “do a good turn daily.” She has been a Brownie, Girl Scout and Cub Scout den leader, a classroom volunteer, an art literacy volunteer, chaperoned youth trips, cut down blackberries and planted trees in greenway areas, painted rooms, cleaned out closets, lifeguarded river trips, organized events, bundled mailings, catered opening night parties, and is currently tutoring English as a Second Language. She is also a theatre junkie and looks forward to giving her energy and time to Portland Playhouse.

Karol Collymore

Karol has spent her career in public service. She started in politics at 21 in New Mexico, working first for Gore/Lieberman 2000 as African American outreach coordinator, then deputy director at the Democratic Party of New Mexico, development coordinator for Richard Romero for Congress in 2002 and finally at the State Capitol as a bill analyst.  She moved to Oregon in 2003 to work for the American Heart Association. After that, she worked Pro-Choice Oregon, Basic Rights Oregon and Supreme Court Judge Virginia Linder.

She is a community activist, volunteering with Basic Rights Oregon, Hands on Greater Portland, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Oregon and a year-long experiment hosting progressive dinner parties for small non-profits like Schoolhouse Supplies and P:ear. She’s currently running for Multnomah County Commissioner for District Two, North and Northeast Portland.

Ben Davis

Ben grew up on a farm in Eastern Washington. He bounced a basketball through college, and graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 1987 with a degree in Geology. He spent his post-graduate time working in the fishing industry in Alaska and following the Lonely Planet travel circuits of Nepal, India, South-East Asia, and Africa. In 1991 he stumbled into baking and fell in love with making artisan breads. Ben and a college friend opened Grand Central Bakery in Portland in 1993, and spent the next 15 years growing the bakery. He currently serves as the company’s President, focusing his work on operations and facilities. Ben keeps busy with his wife Carol and three kids, loves sports, the outdoors, and currently plays / sings in a “blue-grassy” acoustic band called Never Strangers. He also volunteers on the OPB business partners steering committee.

Lori Eberly

Born in NYC, Lori is now an Oregonian at heart. She graduated from Portland State University with her MSW in 2000 and is currently licensed as a clinical social worker, providing executive coaching and professional development. Her career has taught her the courage of truth-telling and the power of story. Her children teach her, daily, about the importance of play and curiosity. The Portland Playhouse connects those four elements and creates a rich and supportive community of people that enrich her life.

Angela Freeman

Angela has lived in Portland for more than 20 years. She keeps herself busy with a husband, 3 kids and job as and elementary school principal. She worked as a teacher in Portland for 6 years and is currently enjoying her role in administration. In any spare time, she enjoys singing, acting, traveling, eating good food and spending quality time with friends and family.

Paul R. Frisch, J.D.

Paul is an experienced HIPAA and related privacy and security regulation expert with experience gained during his 25 year tenure as the Director of Medical Legal Affairs and General Counsel for the Oregon Medical Association.  His continued work with Apgar & Associates, LLC, one of the top ranked health care privacy and security consulting companies in the US with an international clientele, involves security investigations, compliance strategic planning, training and compliance assessment. Paul is also a Senior Consultant with the health care division of AKT LLP, CPAs and business consultants.

Paul is a national expert on identifying the causes of and remediating adverse malpractice experience in individual physicians. Long involved in national patient safety efforts, he is a founding board member of the National Patient Safety Foundation.

Co-author of Adverse Events, Stress and Litigation: A Physician’s Guide, Oxford University Press, Paul has taught Health Law at the University Of Oregon School Of Law since 2004.

Marge Kafoury, Development Chair

Marge has a Mayflower heritage. That ship was either very large or its passengers were exceptionally fertile, because Margeʼs husband Stephen and their son-in-law Nik also claim Mayflower connections. After time in Honolulu and Spokane — two very different venues — Marge moved to Portland where she has lived for over 40 years. She has been engaged in political issues for most of her adult life, as a campaign supporter, elected official, and staff professional. Marge was the City of Portlandʼs government relations director for 19 years and was an elected member of the Metro council for 6 years. Sheʼs now a government relations consultant representing clients with Oregon legislative interests. Margeʼs two major volunteer activities are Portland Playhouse where she chairs the Development Committee, and the City Club of Portland as chair of the Friday Forum Committee. She loves traveling, drinking good red wine, dear friends, and great books.

Wendy Rahm

Born in the southeastern Washington, Wendy returned to the northwest, moving to Portland in 2007 after having been away for more than 30 years.  Home-based in Arlington, VA during those years, she also lived in Algiers, Paris, Madrid, Bern, and London. In Arlington, she taught English at Marymount University. She was active in the DC area arts world, serving 6 years on Signature Theatre’s board (Secretary); on the Arlington Arts Commission (6 years, chair for 2 years); on arts grant panels for Arlington County (Virginia), Montgomery County (Maryland), and for the Virginia Arts Commission; and as a DC-area Helen Hayes Awards nominator for five years.  She also served on the Arlington Committee of 100 Board, Ballston-VA Square Partnership Board, Shirlington Site Plan Review Committee (Arlington County Board appointment), and on the Crystal City Task Force (Arlington County Board appointment).  She is also a past board member of Artist Repertory Theater.  She is married to Richard (Dick) Rahm.

Andy Ricetti-Eberly

Andy was born in Palermo, Sicily, moving to the US at age 14. He farmed in Virginia through high school and went on to fish in Alaska and travel. He met his future wife Christina in 1995; they moved to Oregon in 1998. He has been working for Anctil Plumbing as a journeyman plumber/boiler installer ever since. Spending time with friends and family, going to the mountains, playing soccer, good food and drink – these are a few of his favorite things.

Matthew Kauffman Smith

Matthew holds an MA in writing from Portland State University and has taught college journalism for the past six years. A former newspaper reporter, he has written articles, essays and reviews for regional and national publications. He enjoys hanging out with his two daughters and seeing live performances in theater and music, especially Americana and indie rock shows.
