If These Stoops Could Talk

If These Stoops Could Talk is a community storytelling and memory preservation project rooted in the history of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and the surrounding neighborhood before the building became a theater.

Our intention is to honor the voices, lived experiences, memories, and wisdom of elders, former congregants, neighbors, and community members connected to Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and the King neighborhood.

Stories collected through this process may help inform:

• Community archives
• Oral history documentation
• Artistic and theatrical development
• Intergenerational storytelling
• Exhibitions, installations, or performances
• Future community engagement programming

This process is intended to be rooted in care, consent, transparency, and community accountability.
