La fiesta de Día de Muertos es una tradición prehispánica llena de simbolismos, leyendas y relatos que forman un mosaico único en el mundo, que nos representa a nivel mundial por su dualidad de alegría y tristeza, somos un pueblo que celebra la muerte con vida, con cantos, con comida, con dulces y papel picado, se mezclan las culturas y se hermanan las creencias. Se realiza del 31 de octubre y el 1 y 2 de noviembre, donde se tiene la creencia de que las ánimas de los difuntos regresan esas noches para disfrutar los platillos y flores que sus familiares les ofrecen; llegan en forma ordenada, a los que tuvieron la mala fortuna de morir un mes antes de la celebración no se les pone ofrenda, pues se considera que no tuvieron tiempo de pedir permiso para acudir por lo que solamente sirven como ayudantes de otras ánimas.

El día 2, en cambio, es el llamado Día de los Muertos, la máxima festividad de su tipo en nuestro país, celebración que comienza desde la madrugada con el tañido de las campanas de las iglesias y la práctica de ciertos ritos, como adornar las tumbas y hacer altares sobre las lápidas, los que tienen un gran significado para las familias porque se piensa que ayudan a conducir a las ánimas y a transitar por un buen camino tras la muerte.
