STAFF
AIYANA CUNNINGHAM
DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
A long time fan of the Playhouse, Aiyana has been connected to the work here since performing in the wildly joyful bobrauschenbergamerica in the inaugural season. Having also taught as a teaching artist at De La Salle North Catholic High School for the Fall Festival of Shakespeare, and contributed to the formation of the Apprenticeship Program and early community initiatives — joining the staff of the Playhouse feels like returning home!
As an arts administrator, actor, and director Aiyana has worked with many bright individuals and inspiring companies including Portland Center Stage, Profile Theatre, The August Wilson Red Door Project, and Artists Repertory Theatre. She is passionate about connecting people to meaningful theater experiences and strives to build community around the stories we tell.
She finds happiness enjoying her flourishing garden, sharing ridiculously delicious food with friends, circled around a campfire with marshmallows and songs, and reveling in a delightful evening of theater. Her partners in life are a music-loving husband, super-amazing son, and fetch-obsessed dog.
