Emma Stanton
Emma Stanton is a Chicago and New York playwright. Her work has been developed and produced by Roundabout Theatre Company, Goodman Theatre, American Theater Company, Walkabout Theater, Red Tape Theatre, Oracle Theatre, Luna Stage, Portland Playhouse, Dixon Place, New Dramatists, and the 2017 and 2018 Great Plains Theater Conference. Honors: 2018 Premier Stages Festival (Finalist), 2017 National Playwrights Conference (Finalist), Civics and Arts Foundation Playwriting Award for Emerging Artists in Chicago (Recipient), 2016 Susan Glaspell Award (Finalist), Columbia University/Roundabout Theater Underground Reading Series (Recipient), 2016 Jane Chambers Feminist Playwriting Award (Recipient), and the 2016 Princess Grace Award Playwriting Fellowship (Recipient). Emma spent the 2016-2017 season developing her work at New Dramatists in NYC (Princess Grace Fellowship) and at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago (2016-2017 Playwrights Unit). Emma is currently developing her work with Chicago Dramatists and with Jackope Theatre in Chicago. Emma is a Resident playwright at Chicago Dramatists and teaches playwriting at Columbia College.
