Kay Colburn
Development Associate
Kay Colburn is an artist, crafter, nerd, scholar, activist, outdoors enthusiast, pet owner, friend, and–currently–fundraiser. Born and raised in Portland, Kay is rarely seen without at least one craft project on hand, and they've been involved in voice, dance, and theatre for as long as they can remember.
Kay believes in the power that creativity and community have for creating meaningful change. This belief inspired them to get a degree in history from Washington State University, Vancouver, and a masters in public history (with emphasis on activism, environment, and local organization) from Colorado State University. Her work has focused on making research and scholarship accessible to everyone through transformative mediums like podcasts, videos, and interactive activities. Most recently, Kay brings this creativity and passion for community to the Playhouse, where she is proud to support art and theatre that inspires, challenges, and brings us together.
